Attach poppy petals to poppy centre using green
florist tape.

Roll and cut the red gumpaste using the patchwork
poppy cutter. Cut two sets of the poppy flower and then
roll green gumpaste to cut the leaves side.

Separate the second set of poppy petals and thin and
frill each petal individually using the metal ball tool.

Color the petals, leaves and flowers with edible paint. If
edible paint is not available, use either dusting colors or
gel paste that is thinned down with some lemon extract.

Adhere individual poppy petals to the main poppy
flower using gum glue and support the petals until it
dries using small pieces of tissues. Attach patchwork
poppies to the sides of the cake using gum glue and
enhance with some piping work.
