and expand, so that they now employ an average of about 250
people in Dickinson and compete in states throughout the
Midwest and West, fromWisconsin to Washington.”
The expansion is taking place due to an increased demand
for Baker Boy’s premium bakery products, which include
artisan breads and rolls and donuts. The new facility will
allow the company’s current 250 employees to produce a
greater variety and quantity of products, and do so more
efficiently. Which in turn allows Baker Boy to better serve
their growing customer base.
To complement the existing 12 rack ovens, Baker Boy is
installing a 21-meter-long tunnel oven, to facilitate production
of an even higher quality baked product. In comparing
dollars to donuts, so to speak, the new operation will be able
to produce up to 12,000 donuts an hour. Or, 1.2 million
donuts each week. It’s safe to say that’s a new company

Though the family-owned company has grown significantly
since its inception in 1955, Baker Boy remains committed to
their Midwestern roots and good old-fashioned values no
matter how large their operation becomes. The company was
founded upon timeless baking traditions and a pledge to
remain invested in the community, and still operates out of
Dickinson, ND, though in a much larger capacity.

production headquarters is ceremony-worthy. The company
hosted a groundbreaking celebration on September 21st, and
State Governor John Hoeven was in attendance to show his
support. “Baker Boy’s newest expansion demonstrates not only
how important it is to continue to grow, but also to diversify our
economy in order to strengthen our state for the future,” said
Gov. Hoeven. “The company has shown an ability to innovate
